IYENGAR Yoga was developed by BKS Iyengar. Regular practice develops strength, stamina and flexibility, improves concentration, self-confidence and stills the mind, resulting in an overall increased sense of wellbeing.
IYENGAR focuses on working with precision and good alignment so that the risk of injury or pain is minimised and benefits are symmetrically gained. Quality of movement is prioritised and the use of props such as blankets, blocks and bricks helps participants of all levels of ability to work safely in the classical Asanas (yoga poses).
IYENGAR Yoga is renowned for its use of props to encourage improved posture.
