We are happy to welcome Kirsty Marcinkiewicz to the Old Stables Team and are excited to launch her two signature classes on Saturday mornings here from October:

Yin Yoga 9.15 – 10.15am and Yang Flow Yoga 10.30 – 11.30am – both £8.00 (if you’re joining us for both sessions there’s a reduction in price – just £14.00 for the two)

To introduce these classes and explore the differences between the two complementary styles of yoga, Kirsty will be leading a dual workshop especially for our Autumn Wellbeing Week:
Saturday 19 October 10.15 – 11.45am Yin & Yang Yoga Workshop with Kirsty-Jayne Marcinkiewicz £15.00
The Yin…
Yin Yoga has its roots in Daoism, and through a series of stimulating and healing postures, integrates traditional Chinese medicine and the practices of Buddhism. When we have weak, deficient Chi or blockages in the meridians (invisible pathways through which the life force – Chi – flows) it can affect us physically, energetically and emotionally and the postures in Yin are used to harmonise the flow of chi in our bodies. Targeting the Yin tissues in the postures, gently stretching the connective tissue, which needs stillness and time to be stimulated, Yin Yoga helps prevent loss of mobility in the joints, degeneration and reduces fixation (temporary sticking together of two surfaces) and hydration. The physical, mental, emotional and energetic benefits of Yin Yoga help us bring balance into our lives encouraging more peace and harmony.

…and the Yang

An energising and dynamic flowing yoga incorporating Hatha based postures to build body strength and flexibility. The sequences synchronise the movement with the breath, encouraging us to remain in the present moment throughout the practice and experience better balance within.
Our bodies are made up of both Yin (ligaments, tendons and fascia) and Yang tissues (muscles, blood and skin). Explore these two elements, how they differ and complement each other. Which one will suit you?
